Ceracell had the great idea to create a Beast Blocker that clicks into their other hive products to protect beehives from hornets, wasps, and robbing bees and more in a cost effective and chemical-free way. Ceracell trusted us to bring this idea to life. There were many knowledgeable stakeholders feeding into the design of this product which made the design and review process important to the success and financial viability of the project. We built simple models that could be iterated quickly. Only once the design was approved did we work on preparing the design for manufacture, then tooling, and finally production. This approach was the best way to keep costs down and iterate quickly so all stakeholders could add maximum value. Ceracell is an amazing Kiwi business that had an excellent idea that we were proud to help bring to life!
We enjoyed the process of designing these Stone Guard Visor Cab Skirts and Airkit for Visor Distributors, a repeat customer of ours. We started off by completing a highly detailed and accurate 3D scan of the cab. We built styling surfaces to achieve the desired visual design, received approval from the customer, then created viable products that our customer can manufacture successfully. Visor Distributors appreciates that 3D Hub is a one-stop-shop for 3D Scanning, Reverse Engineering and Product Design services. We're efficient and design high quality products. 3D Hub recently partnered with ZeroJet, an electric propulsion system manufacturer whose jet tender systems are quieter, cleaner and require less maintenance than petrol and diesel outboard motors. 3D Hub reviewed the intake design to ensure it would achieve their requirements. We then manufactured a small volume of the part in the materials we recommended. These were urethane cast with over-molded threaded inserts. The design included a grate with stainless steel bars and urethane ends that fit into their jet propulsion system. It was rewarding to partner with another Kiwi business to deliver their inventive product design and make their manufacturing journey as smooth and efficient as possible.
